Indiana will honor its 1979 Holiday Bowl championship team this weekend. Returning members of the team will lead the current team on the walk. IU went 8-4 in 1979 and beat No. 9 Brigham Young in the Holiday Bowl.

Indiana football will average at least 40,000 fans for the first time since 1992. The Hoosiers are averaging 40,478. More than 40,000 tickets have already been sold for Saturday's game with Purdue. IU has sold an average of 10,184 student tickets. That marks an increase of 2,824 tickets from 2008. IU averaged 11,389 student tickets in 1992.

Indiana improved to 2-0 by holding on for a 69-61 win against USC-Upstate. The Hoosiers held a 20-point lead, 60-40, with 9:08 remaining. The Spartans trimmed it to eight, 65-57, with 2:20 to go. Last year's group might have seen the lead completely melt away. But this year's more talented squad found a way to win.

Christian Watford scored 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in Indiana's 69-61 victory against USC-Upstate.His big three-pointer, a fade-away shot, with 1:44 sealed the victory.He's not even scratching the surface, IU coach Tom Crean said. He is so talented and he's not even close to consistent yet. I'm not here to pat him on the back, we're here to drive him.
