Ex-Miss America signs books in Auburn

Katie Stam Irk, Miss America 2009, will be signing copies of her new book, “Merely Moving Shadows: A 10-Week Devotional Guide to Living God's Purpose Through His Plan”  from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at Bowls Frozen Desserts, 1051 Smaltz Way in Auburn.

The signing is a fundraiser for the Miss Northeast Indiana Scholarship Pageant's scholarship fund.

Stam Irk was the first Indiana representative to be crowned Miss America in the pageant's 88-year history. Former Auburn resident Megan Meadors Roberts assumed Katie's duties as Miss Indiana. Since passing on the title of Miss America, Stam Irk has been on a national speaking tour as an advocate of agriculture, faith and service.

For those unable to attend, autographed copies of the devotional may be purchased by emailing MissNortheastIN@gmail.com through 2 p.m. Friday.
