A 34-year-old Fort Wayne man was identified as the victim of Fort Wayne's first homicide of 2015, the Allen County coroner's office said today.
Hilario Segura died from a gunshot wound or wounds, the coroner's office said in a statement following an autopsy.
Segura was shot about 10:20 p.m. Wednesday in the 3000 block of South Hanna Street, the statement said.
Police have said a stray bullet passed through the walls of a home in that block, striking the man inside his house and killing him as he put his children to bed.
The slaying remains under investigation by Fort Wayne police, the coroner's office and the county prosecutor's office.
