Fort Wayne police are investigating a southeast side shooting that injured two boys – one critically – before sunrise Sunday.
Police have released few details about the shooting, which brought officers to the 2700 block of Chestnut Street about 6:50 a.m., according to a news release from the Fort Wayne Police Department. When officers arrived, they found two boys suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, police said.
Paramedics began emergency care on the boys before both boys were taken to a hospital, where they were listed in serious and critical condition, police said. Their names were not released.
Police, who checked the area for witnesses and gathered evidence Sunday, have not released information about a suspect. No updates were available late Sunday afternoon.
