Police seek public's help in solving sex assaults

JAMIE DUFFY | The Journal Gazette

Fort Wayne police are asking the public for information on an unidentified man linked to three sexual assaults on the city's southeast side over a two-year period.

In each case, police said, the attacker broke into a home in the early-morning hours and sexually assaulted a woman.

DNA samples that were recovered at each of the three locations point to the same man being responsible for each assault, police said.

The sexual assaults that took place:

• 4500 block of South Park Drive in May

• 5000 block of Bowser Avenue in August

• 5200 block of Bowser Avenue in September 2015

Police are asking residents to report any suspicious activity in areas surrounding the assaults by calling 911.

Anyone with information that could assist investigators in identifying a possible suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 436-7867.
