Son pleads guilty to murder, attempted murder of parents

A Fort Wayne man admitted today he attacked his parents with a hammer inside their Homestead Road home, killing his father and badly injuring his mother.

Scott L. Ruse, 51, pleaded guilty in Allen Superior Court to murder and attempted murder.

He admitted going to his parents' home at 3309 Homestead Road on July 5, intending to kill them. He struck his mother, Sandra Ruse, with a hammer numerous times and then bludgeoned his father, Gene L. Ruse, who died July 18.

Ruse will be sentenced March 12 and faces up to 105 years in prison.
