Shooter of teen gets 50 years in slaying

MATTHEW LEBLANC | The Journal Gazette

A man who shot a teenager to death inside a vacant home in 2015 was ordered to spend 50 years in prison Friday.

Xavier Miller, 23, shot Porter Billians, 19, in the head inside the home in the 6200 block of Kent Road on Sept. 26, 2015. He lured the teen into the home to rob him.

Miller and two other men robbed a store on the city's south side two days before the slaying and was sentenced to 12 years in prison for that crime. His sentence for the murder will begin after he serves time for the robbery.
