Parkview Heart Institute officials today announced a new affiliation with the Cleveland Clinic.
As an affiliate, Parkview Heart Institute "will have access to the best practices that have helped Cleveland Clinic achieve U.S. News & World Report's No. 1 ranking for cardiology and heart surgery for the last 25 years," Parkview said in a news release.
The news comes less than two months after Parkview Health announced another partnership with a nationally recognized provider.
Parkview Center Institute announced on May 22 that it had become a certified member of the MD Anderson Cancer Network. The message to patients was that those with the hardest-to-cure cancers would no longer have to leave northeast Indiana for treatment.
Dr. Neil Sharma, Parkview Cancer Institute's president, said the designation could make what is already a regional destination for cancer patients into a national one.
Parkview Heart Institute leaders were scheduled to outline the Cleveland Clinic affiliation's effects on patients during a noon news conference.
