Shepherd's House seeks volunteers
Friends of Shepherd's House will meet at 11 a.m. Saturday at Shepherd's House, 519 Tennessee Ave., to recruit volunteers for summer fundraising events.
The advocacy organization has raised roughly $270,000 for Shepherd's House, a transitional shelter for homeless military veterans. The group formed after the shelter temporarily lost federal funding, its main source of revenue, for fiscal 2018.
The Saturday meeting “gives community members a chance to help make a difference for local veterans in need by volunteering their time and talents at our fundraising events,” organization spokesman Alex Wulpi said in a news release.
Friends of Shepherd's House said it will post details and updates of its activities on its Facebook events page.
