Noble County lawyer named judge

INDIANAPOLIS – Gov. Eric Holcomb on Tuesday tapped Steven Clark Hagen as the new Noble County Superior Court II judge.

Hagen succeeds Judge Michael Kramer, who was elected in November as judge of Noble County Circuit Court.

Hagen is a longstanding resident and attorney in Noble County with extensive experience in civil and criminal law.

During his career, he has been a deputy prosecutor for Noble County; city attorney for the city of Ligonier; and town attorney for Albion, Avilla and Cromwell. He has represented numerous governmental entities such as the Central Noble School Corp., Noble County Redevelopment Commission, Kendallville Housing Authority and Noble County Library.

Hagen is a past president of the Noble County Bar Association and the Albion Rotary Club. Currently, he is president of the board of the Noble County Public Defenders' Agency.

He will be sworn into office on a mutually agreeable date to be determined.

He has been a licensed attorney in Indiana since 1978 and has no disciplinary history.
