Easter services

• Seminary Church, 285 N. Seminary St., Roanoke, will have its Palm Sunday services at 10 a.m. Sunday. A Maundy Thursday service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday. On April 21, there will be an Easter sunrise cemetery service at 6:54 a.m. at Pleasant Chapel Cemetery, followed by a joint service like it would have been in 1844. There will also be a free breakfast at 8:45 a.m., Easter egg hunt for children at 9:30 a.m. and worship service at 10 a.m.

• Pleasant Chapel, 880 E 1100 N, Roanoke, will join Roanoke Brethren Church, Christ's United Methodist, Seminary Church of Roanoke and Zion United Methodist for a Palm Sunday service at 7 p.m. at Pleasant Chapel.

• Christ's United Methodist Church, 148 E 3rd St., Roanoke, will have a Good Friday community service at 7 p.m. Friday. Other churches participating include Zion United Methodist Church, Seminary Church of Roanoke and Pleasant Chapel.

• Faith United Methodist Church, 207 E. DeWald St., will have a Good Friday service at 6 p.m. Friday featuring a musical cantata, “Through the Eyes of Love,” with guest vocalist Cynda Williams.

Special event

St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, 3535 Crescent Ave., will have the Taste of St. Nicholas Bake Sale from noon to 5 p.m. April 20.
