ARTS UPDATE

AUDITIONS:

• Off Stage Productions will have auditions for “Farce of Habit” from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Vantage Career Center, door No. 7, 818 N. Franklin St., Van Wert, Ohio. Performance dates begin Oct. 19. For more information on audition, go to offstagetheatre.com or call 773-793-4456.

• Fort Wayne Children's Choir will have an additional audition for its 2018-19 season from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Aug. 20 in the Rhinehart Music Center, Purdue Fort Wayne, 2101 E. CLASSES:

• The Fort Wayne Children's Choir and the Allen County Public Library are offering First Steps in Music for children up to age 3. The free classes will be 10:30 a.m. Aug. 22 at the Hessen Cassel branch; Aug. 23 at the Waynedale branch; Aug. 24 at the Aboite branch; Aug. 28 at the Tecumseh branch; Aug. 29at the main library branch downtown; and Aug. 30 at the Shawnee branch.

• The University of Saint Francis will have an artist lecture with nationally-known photographer Stephanie Sinclair at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 31 at the Mimi and Ian Rolland Art and Visual Communication Center, 2701 Spring St.

BOOK PUBLISHED: Local author Kayleen Reusser has published her third book of veterans' World War II stories called, “We Gave Our Best: American World War II Veterans Tell Their Stories.”

FILM RELEASED: Local filmmaker Glenn Berggoetz's new work, “Poetry Slammed” is available on Amazon.com.

NEW EVENT: The Downtown Improvement District announced that the winner of its events contest is Spring Forward Fest, which will take place on March 9.
