Special event

St. James Lutheran Church, 1720 Indiana 930 E., New Haven, will have a rummage and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 8 and 9 a.m. to noon June 9 with a $3 bag sale.

Vacation Bible school

• Agape Church of the Brethren, 11610 Lima Road, will have vacation Bible school from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. June 3, 4, 10 and 11 for ages 3 to 12. The theme is “Jesus and the Gospels.” In addition, adults will have a Bible study led by pastor Todd Hammond. To register, go to or call 489-6908.

• First Christian Church, 4800 S. Calhoun St., will have vacation Bible school registration, as well as free ice cream and a beach party, from 7 to 9 p.m. June 30. The community vacation Bible school will be from 5:30 to 8 p.m. July 22 to 26 at Lincolnshire Church of the Brethren, 6404 S. Calhoun St. The theme is “Shipwrecked – Rescued by Jesus.”


Eight members of Our Lady of Victory Missionary sisters are celebrating jubilees. There will be a celebration Mass July 28 to honor the sisters in the Archbishop Noll Memorial Chapel at Victory Noll, 1900 W. Park Drive, Huntington. Those to be honored are Sister Mary Joan Ginsterblum, 80 years; Sister Joan Arnold, Sister Monica Haines, Sister Mary Alice Murphy and Sister Paula Wellnitz, all 70 years; Sister Clarita Trujillo and Sister Teri Nederhiser, both 60 years; and Sister Teresa Aparicio-Cervantes, 50 years.
