Giving back

• Preferred Automotive Group and ACDelco provided families and people in need with $5,000 of free vehicle repairs for their National Day of Service on Thursday. Preferred Automotive Group worked with Lutheran Children's Hospital, Erin's House, Camp Watcha Wanna Do and the Fort Wayne Police Department to identify seven families in need.

• Menard's, with two locations in Fort Wayne, has chosen a local non-profit animal organization to collect pet supply donations for National Pet Month in May.

Volunteers honored

Pathfinder HomeOwnership Center in Huntington honored the following volunteers who helped with its free tax preparation program: John Aleman, Jan Baumgartner, Larry Carr, Tyson Dietrich, Sheryl Glancy, Paul Hammel, Linda Holmes, Bill Horoho, Felix Liu, Leah Ness, Logan Patterson, Amber Prather, Michele Santa, Andy Vaught and Seth Walker.
