Rahrig, two area doubles team reach tennis regionals

Bishop Luers's Caroline Rahrig and the Homestead doubles team of Payton Krahn and Morgan Render will compete in the girls tennis individual state tournament regionals at Kokomo on Saturday. West Noble's Riley Kruger and Tara Miller will play at the Portage regional, which will also be held Saturday.
Rahrig has a bye in the first round of the regional championship and will play the winner of the match between Lafayette Jefferson's McKenzie Braden and South Vermillion's Elizabeth Tindera. Krahn and Render will play Samantha and Sasha Academia of Yorktown in the Kokomo semifinal. Miller and Kruger will play Sydney McLaurin and Peyton Horn of Andrean in the Portage semis.
The individual tournament field is open to No. 1 singles players and No. 1 doubles teams who are undefeated but whose school is no longer competing in the team tournament.
