Canterbury beats Blackhawk Christian in soccer sectional


Justin Baeten's overtime goal lifted Canterbury to a 2-1 win over Lakewood Park Christian in the second round of the Blackhawk Christian Class A boys soccer sectional Wednesday.

The game was tied at 1 at the end of regulation with goals coming from Trey VanDyken for Lakewood Park and Jonathan Bowen scoring for Canterbury. The Cavaliers will play in the sectional championship on Saturday.

BLACKHAWK CHRISTIAN 5, WABASH 0: At Blackhawk Christian in the Class A sectional, Jacob Lindsey, Michael Pulver (2), Kyle Thompson and Jacob Wallace all netted goals in the win.

WESTVIEW 2, CENTRAL NOBLE 1: At Central Noble in the Class A sectional, Jadon Yoder scored twice to give Westview the win. Austin Cole scored for Central Noble.


CANTERBURY 3, WAYNE 0: At Wayne, Canterbury won 25-16, 25-12, 25-13. Marissa Rivers led the team in kills with 10 and digs 11. Rivers and Darryn Hargrett both added seven aces.
