Snider hires Gregory Addison to lead girls basketball team

JOURNAL GAZETTE

Gregory Addison has been named the girls basketball coach at Snider, according to media reports.

Addison has served in the military for the last 20 years and on the Fort Wayne Police force since 2006. He is currently the school resource officer at Portage Middle School, where he spent last season as the girls basketball coach.

Addison takes over the Panthers program that went 22-22 in two years under Greg Friend, who stepped down at the end of last season.

In the last 10 years, the program had four 20-win seasons including two under Ryan Gould (now at Trine) and two under Kelley Meiklejohn.

That time span also included five sectional titles and a regional championship.

Snider graduated Hannah Barnes from last year's team but returns five players who played extensively last season, including senior Deleshia Davis, Nyasia Hardy, Payton Gorman, Nehkai Boone and Tamara Wade.
