Homestead golf beats Carroll

JOURNAL GAZETTE

The Homestead boys golf team defeated rival Carroll 154-171 at Chestnut Hills on Tuesday.

Garrett Willis led the Spartans with a 36, Braden Kattman and Adam DeLong each shot 39 and Conner Ottinger rounded out the scoring with a 40.

Ben Jackson shot 40, Ben Rudolf had a 42, Cody Lincoln a 43 and Chandler Boyce 46 for the Chargers.

 

BISHOP LUERS 162, SOUTH SIDE 233: At Brookwood, Stephen Bolan shot 1-under 35 on the front nine while Carston Fritz shot 38 to lead the Knights.

Sean Ignacio shot 50 to lead the Archers.

WHITKO 180, TIPPECANOE VALLEY 222: Kylar Bryant shot a 42 and Cade Bechtold a 43 to lead the Wildcats.

CENTRAL NOBLE 215, HAMILTON 254: Nick Alwine shot a 48 to lead the Cougars while Ty Ritter shot a 55 for the Marines.

Softball

HOMESTEAD 8, CARROLL 1: At Carroll, Savana Harless went 3 for 4 with two doubles and three RBI for the Spartans.

BISHOP DWENGER 14, BISHOP LUERS 1: At Bishop Luers, Avery Greider hit a home run and Emily Anglin and Victoria Fisher each hit doubles for the Saints.

Tennis

HOMESTEAD 4, ADAMS CENTRAL 1: At Homestead, Olivia Creech defeated Maddy DeRoo 6-3, 6-4 at No. 1 singles to lead the Spartans.

Saige Rinkenberger won at No. 3 singles over Morgan Render 3-6, 6-1, 6-3. Rinkenberger is improves to 15-1 for the Flying Jets.

CARROLL 5, LEO 0: The Chargers remained undefeated at 15-0 as Sydney Jackson defeated Emili Runsestad 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles and Mia Toscos and Lauren VanWyngarden swept Cassidy Boyce and Quinn Stanchin 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 doubles.

SOUTH ADAMS 5, BLACKFORD 0: Starfires' Julia Grabau defeated Audrey Foster 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2 singles to remain undefeated at 13-0.
