Snider holds off Northrop

Northrop struck early, but Snider ensured that didn't last long as the Panthers topped the Bruins 49-35 at Spuller Stadium on Friday.

Bailey Meerzo scored on a 5-yard run to put Northrop up 7-0, but Christian Covington scored twice on 4- and 7-yard runs to give the Panthers a 14-7 advantage that they wouldn't let go of.

Covington ran 14 times for 123 yards and four scores for the Panthers (7-0).

Meerzo completed 13 of 24 pass attempts for 159 yards and a score and ran 14 times for 67 yards and three touchdowns for the Bruins (1-6) and Keishon Edwards ran for 148 yards on 28 carries.

 

CONCORDIA 35, WAYNE 14: At Wayne, Marcus Morrow ran 15 times for 140 yards and a score and Preston Kerlegrand had 110 yards rushing on 10 carries for the Cadets (4-3).

Brandan Young was 7 of 19 for 102 yards and John Allen ran eight times for 93 yards and a score for the Generals (3-4).

SOUTH SIDE 35, NORTH SIDE 22: At South Side, the Archers (1-6) won the Totem Pole for the second straight year over the Legends (0-7).

LEO 42, HUNTINGTON NORTH 12: At Huntington North, A.J. Restivo completed 13 of 20 passes for a school-record 300 yards and five touchdowns for the Lions (5-2, 4-1 NE8). Jason Gause caught five passes for 185 yards and three scores and Colton Grahovac had 92 yards receiving and two touchdowns.

EAST NOBLE 42, COLUMBIA CITY 0: At Columbia City, Andrew McCormick was 14 of 28 for 170 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions and ran 13 times for 99 yards for the Knights (5-2, 4-1 NE8). Jacob Bolt went 8 of 17 for 69 yards for the Eagles (4-3, 3-2).

NEW HAVEN 18, BELLMONT 13: At Bellmont, Stephen Owens ran 25 times for 172 yards and two scores for the Bulldogs (7-0, 5-0 NE8). Jon Wilder went 8 of 12 for 90 yards and two scores with an interception for the Braves (2-5, 2-3).

BLUFFTON 34, HERITAGE 32: At Heritage, Brandon Lockwood ran 30 times for 225 yards and a score for the Tigers (4-3, 3-2 ACAC) and Gavin King went 6 of 9 for 89 yards, a touchdown and an interception and ran eight times for 104 yards and two scores. Hunter Bradmueller ran 22 times for 126 yards for the Patriots (0-7, 0-4) with two touchdowns.

ADAMS CENTRAL 49, SOUTHERN WELLS 0: At Southern Wells, Parker Bates completed 5 of 6 pass attempts for 84 yards and two scores and ran five times for 59 yards and another score and Drew Schultz had 113 yards rushing on 14 carries and two touchdowns for the Jets (5-2, 4-0 ACAC). Josh Beeks ran seven times for 43 yards for the Raiders (1-6, 0-4).

SOUTH ADAMS 45, JAY COUNTY 28: At South Adams, James Arnold completed 18 of 23 passes for 269 yards and three touchdowns and Joe Stuber ran 23 time for 151 yards and three scores for the Starfires (6-1, 3-1 ACAC).

GARRETT 20, FAIRFIELD 14: At Garrett, Jacob Bevis scored three touchdowns for the Railroaders (5-2, 3-0 NECC).

ANGOLA 49, PRAIRIE HEIGHTS 6: At Angola, Chance Roddy threw for three touchdowns and ran for a two scores for the Hornets (7-0, 4-0).

LAKELAND 38, WEST NOBLE 36: At West Noble, Chase Wroblewski went 10 of 23 for 174 yards, three touchdowns and an interception for the Chargers (3-4, 3-4) while Brandon Pruitt ran 24 times for 211 yards and a score.

EASTSIDE 48, FREMONT 6: At Fremont, Caleb Ballentine threw 8 of 15 for 123 yards and two touchdowns and Jordan Esposito had 120 yards on 12 carries for four touchdowns for the Blazers (5-2, 2-1). Conner Kreis completed four of 16 passes for 85 yards including a 52-yard touchdown pass in the fourth for the Eagles (0-7, 0-3).

WARSAW 35, WAWASEE 13: At Warsaw, Tristan Larsh ran 28 times for 197 yards and three scores and completed 5 of 9 passes for 67 yards and two touchdowns for the Tigers (4-3, 3-2 NLC). Alec Rosebrugh ran 20 times for 196 yards and Jacob Hand returned an interception for a touchdown for the Warriors (1-6, 0-5).

MANCHESTER 34, WHITKO 14: At Whitko, Hunter Reed ran for 116 yards and two scores for the Wildcats (0-7, 0-3).
