The defending champion and host Chargers swept Leo 5-0 at the Carroll Tennis Sectional first round Wednesday.
Sydney Jackson defeated Haley Parker 7-6 (7-5), 6-0 at No. 1 singles and Mia Toscos and Lauren VanWyngarden defeated Morgan Yingling at Cassidy Boyce 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles.
Snider swept Churubusco with Chloe Smithley winning over Cecilia Gierscher 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles and Camille Kocks and Emily Pfeiffer winning over Cora Pence and Katelyn Johnson 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 at No. 1 doubles.
Carroll plays Blackhawk Christian and Snider faces Northrop at 4:15 p.m. today.
CONCORDIA SECTIONAL: South Side swept North Side 5-0 with Angela Mamani winning 6-0, 6-1 over Grace Henschen and Leila Bojcic and Thazin Min winning 6-2, 6-1 over Seiktama Mon and Cing Kim at No. 1 doubles.
ANGOLA SECTIONAL: The hosts swept Prairie Heights 5-0 with Jaydn Davis winning 6-4, 6-4 over Katie Newby.
Fremont won over DeKalb 4-1 with Adrianna McDowell defeating Bethany Lancaster 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 singles. Barons' Jordan Stayer and Marie Burton won 7-6, 7-5 at No. 2 doubles.
NORWELL SECTIONAL: Bellmont won 4-1 over Bluffton led by Brielle Adams' 6-7 (8-6), 6-4, 6-4 over Hannah Gerber at No. 1 singles. Bluffton's Maranda Craighead and Kirsten Bennett won 6-0, 6-3 over Courtney Schultz and Megan McBarnes at No. 2 doubles.
The hosts defeated South Adams 3-2 as the Knights won at No. 1 and No. 2 singles and No. 2 doubles.
Golf
BISHOP DWENGER 157, LEO 173: At Coyote Creek, Logan Ryan shot a 1-under 35 to lead the Saints. Ashby Drummond led the Lions with a 40.
BISHOP LUERS 160, CENTRAL NOBLE 210: At Brookwood, Martin Harrold shot a 38 and Will Pape a 39 to lead the Knights. Lucas Smith paced the Cougars with a 51.
Softball
HOMESTEAD 7, ANGOLA 6: At Angola, Megan Hostetler pitched three innings of one-hit relief to earn the win as the Spartans rallied with five runs in the seventh.
