Councilman Tom Freistroffer, R-at large, agreed.
"He's done just so may tremendous things for our city," Freistroffer said. "A lot of the things that he's done are not seen by the people that are voting."
Councilman Tom Didier, R-3rd, said Crawford will be missed.
"He is the hardest working city councilman that I've worked with in regards to understanding all the functionalities of how he's going to vote," Didier said. "He's going to be truly missed. The four years I did not have him on council were the four most tumultuous years I ever had on city council."
Tim Smith defeated Crawford for the Republican mayoral nomination last week. Smith will face Tom Henry in November.
