Journal Gazette

U.S. Rep. Luke Messer, a candidate for the Republican nomination for a Senate seat, will campaign Saturday across northeast Indiana.

Messer, R-6th, will attend a Huntington County Republican Party breakfast and appear at meet-and-greet events in New Haven, Auburn and Angola.

The breakfast will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Park Drive VFW in Huntington. Hourlong meet-and-greet events will be at 11:30 a.m. at the New Haven Community Center, 1 p.m. at Jeremiah's Coffee Shop in Auburn and 2:30 p.m. at Mad Anthony's Lakeview Ale House in Angola.

Greensburg resident Messer is competing for the GOP Senate nomination against former state lawmaker Mike Braun of Jasper and U.S. Rep. Todd Rokita, R-4th, a resident of Brownsburg. The winner of the May 8 primary election will challenge Democratic Sen. Joe Donnelly in the Nov. 6 general election.
