Knapke named Academic All-America NAIA Team Member of the Year

Indiana Tech senior forward Kendall Knapke was named the 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-America NAIA Women’s Basketball Team Member of the Year, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Knapke becomes the first women’s basketball player and just the third student-athlete from Tech to garner the prestigious honor, joining Wiebke Schlender (2017 – At-Large) and Glen McClain (2017 – Baseball).
The Hoagland native sports a 4.0 GPA as an Accounting major and was named the recipient of the 2018 Emil S. Liston Scholarship Award by the NAIA.
The Heritage High School product was a First-Team All-Conference selection by the coaches in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) in addition to garnering WHAC All-Academic Team honors and a spot on the Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete list. Knapke finished her season averaging 15.6 points, 7.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.4 steals per game while logging over 34 minutes a night.
