IPFW basketball gets Lehigh transfer

JOURNAL GAZETTE

IPFW basketball is adding both depth and talent to its roster with Lehigh transfer Matt Holba.

The 6-foot-7 forward averaged 4.0 rebounds and a 53.7 field-goal percentage over 31 games for the Mountain Hawks during the 2016-2017 season.

"Matt plays with a relentless toughness, is very skilled, and can guard multiple positions," Mastodons head coach Jon Coffman said in a team news release. "But most importantly, he is a winner who has won at both the Division 1 level as well as in high school."

Holba came out of Guerrin Catholic in Noblesville, where ESPN ranked him as Indiana's No. 9 recruit in 2015. The incoming junior will be redshirted during IPFW's upcoming season before returning to the court in the fall of 2018, where he will have two elegible years as a Mastodon.

Holba will join a IPFW program that is coming off it's third consecutive 20-win season and fourth consecutive playoff birth.
