Mad Ants lose grip on division lead

Edmond Sumner scored 25 points, making 9 of 20 shots, but the Mad Ants lost 127-99 to the Iowa Wolves in front of 3,545 fans at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa, on Saturday night.
The Mad Ants had been looking for their first three-game winning streak since they were 3-1.
They play host to the Stockton Kings at 7 p.m. Monday at Memorial Coliseum.
Alize Johnson had 21 points and 10 rebounds for the Mad Ants (11-11) for his 14th double-double in 17 G League games this season. He has double-doubles in 12 of his last 13 games.
Demetrius Denzel-Dyson added 15 points and Davon Reed had 14 for the Mad Ants, who fell a half-game behind Windy City for first place in the Central Division.
One night after scoring a career-best 32 points in a 125-120 victory at the Coliseum over the Wisconsin Herd, Stephan Hicks was held scoreless for Fort Wayne on 0-for-6 shooting in 25 minutes.
Iowa (8-15) was led by C.J. Williams’ 27 points on 11-of-23 shooting, including 5-of-11 shooting from 3-point range. Darius Johnson-Odom had 26 points and 12 rebounds. Keita Bates-Diop added 23 points and 12 rebounds.
Iowa out-rebounded Fort Wayne 56-42.
