Jarrod Uthoff, who spent the last two seasons with the Mad Ants, will attend the G League’s ninth annual Elite Mini Camp at Chicago’s Quest Multisport gym. The two-day event, which will also be attended by former Bishop Luers and Indiana University star James Blackmon Jr., will begin May 14.
The Mini Camp is a chance for players from the G League to showcase their skills for NBA personnel in advance of Summer League and training camps.
The Orlando Magic’s Jonathon Simmons is among the past participants.
Of this year’s participants – there are 40 scheduled to attend – 13 already have NBA experience.
In 50 regular-season games with the Mad Ants, Uthoff averaged 16.5 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.1 shot blocks.
Blackmon, a rookie who played for both Delaware and Wisconsin, played in 47 games and averaged 14.4 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.1 assists.
The Mad Ants could have several players participating in Summer League, when you consider they had Indiana Pacers prospects Ike Anigbogu and Ben Moore, and a player such as Tra-Deon Hollins might garner interest coming off his rookie season of professional basketball.
