Pacers sign Poythress

JUSTIN A. COHN | The Journal Gazette

Alex Poythress has been signed by the NBA’s Indiana Pacers, ending his stint as a player on a two-way contract with the Pacers and Mad Ants of the G League.

Poythress has played in 11 games with the Pacers, totaling only 52 minutes and making 4 of 10 shots with eight rebounds. In six games with the Mad Ants, he averaged 20 points, 9 rebounds and 2.7 assists.

Edmond Sumner, who still hasn’t made his professional debut after suffering a knee injury last season at Xavier, is the only player still on a two-way contract with the Pacers and Mad Ants.

The Mad Ants play tonight in Erie, Pennsylvania.
