TinCaps 4-3, Bowling Green 3-4

TinCaps split at Bowling Green


The TinCaps picked up a win and a loss at Bowling Green Ballpark in Bowling Green, Kentucky, on Wednesday.

Fort Wayne (29-36) won 4-3 in a game that was previously suspended May 31, and then dropped a second game 4-3 in a regularly scheduled game. Both games were seven innings.

The first game was picked up with the score tied at 1 in the fourth inning. The TinCaps, who were the home team in the opener, scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth. 

Korey Anderson (1-0) got the win, giving up a run in two innings of work. 

The TinCaps' Luis Almanzar and Jalen Washington each had two hits.

In the second game, the Hot Rods (43-32) scored single runs in the sixth and seventh innings as the TinCaps led 3-2 in the fifth. Taylor Walls' single in the bottom of the seventh knocked in Jim Haley with the game-winner. 

IPFW product Evan Miller (1-2) took the loss after giving up two hits and one earned run in two-thirds of an inning.

Robbie Podorsky was 2 for 2 with an RBI for Fort Wayne.
