TinCaps no-hit by South Bend

SOUTH BEND – Rollie Lacy and Ben Hecht combined to pitch a no-hitter, leading the South Bend Cubs to a 7-0 victory over the TinCaps on Wednesday.

Lacy (2-1) picked up the win after he struck out six and walked two over seven scoreless innings.

Up 1-0 in the third, South Bend added to its lead when it put up three runs, including a single by Jared Young that scored Zach Davis.

The Cubs later added single runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings to finish off the shutout.

Nick Margevicius (4-3) went six innings, giving six runs and nine hits while striking out eight .

Davis tripled and singled twice, scoring two runs in the win. Young singled three times, driving home four runs.

The TinCaps were held scoreless for the fourth time this season, while the Cubs' staff recorded their seventh shutout of the year.
