Game 2: TinCaps aim to keep season alive

CHRIS GOFF | The Journal Gazette

DAYTON, Ohio – To stay alive in the Midwest League playoffs, the TinCaps face a must-win scenario tonight in Game 2 of the Eastern Division Championship Series against Dayton.

After the Dragons prevailed 2-1 on Saturday night at Parkview Field, Fort Wayne needs a pair of wins at Fifth Third Field to escape the best-of-three series.

The starting pitchers in Game 2 are Reggie Lawson for Fort Wayne and Matt Blandino for the Dragons, an affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds.

The TinCaps saw Blandino three times in the regular season and, in 14 1/3 innings against him, picked up eight runs on 15 hits. Lawson, also a right-hander, had three appearances against the Dragons, who batted just .208 against him but did launch four home runs in 48 at-bats.
