Game 117: TinCaps (56-60) vs. Bowling Green (60-53)

CHRIS GOFF | The Journal Gazette

The TinCaps are 6-9 in the season series with Bowling Green with three games remaining. Unless Fort Wayne can win all three, the Hot Rods would own the tiebreaker for home-field advantage in the first round of the Midwest League playoffs.

And make no mistake, the TinCaps and Hot Rods are almost certain to meet in the postseason. With less than a month to go, Bowling Green has an eight-game lead in the Eastern Division wild-card race. Fort Wayne has a nine-game cushion for a playoff spot.

After Bowling Green won 5-2 Thursday, this playoff preview continues tonight at Parkview Field with Lake Bachar going against the Hot Rods' Chris Pike, who hasn't faced the TinCaps since 2015. They had a lot of trouble with Pike that year, hitting just .162 in 68 at-bats against him.

Bachar, a native of Winfield, Illinois, has given up only three runs in nine innings since joining the TinCaps.
