Game 116: TinCaps (56-59) vs. Bowling Green (59-53)
CHRIS GOFF | The Journal Gazette
As the TinCaps open a four-game series against Bowling Green at Parkview Field, they will be without one of their best players.
First baseman Brad Zunica was placed on the disabled list Thursday because of a foot issue. Zunica is tied for fourth in the Midwest League with 18 home runs. His DL stint is retroactive to Wednesday and must last at least 10 days.
Another first baseman, Luis Anguizola, was promoted from short-season Tri-City to fill Zunica's spot. A 25th-round choice of the San Diego Padres in last year's amateur draft, Anguizola hit .250 with one homer in 27 games with Tri-City this year.
Fort Wayne and Bowling Green are likely to meet in the first round of the playoffs, so this series could help determine which side has home-field advantage. The Hot Rods lead the season series 8-6. This series marks the teams' last meeting of the regular season.
