IU confirms Miller's staff; Elston to remain in role
CHRIS GOFF | The Journal Gazette
Indiana confirmed Archie Miller's staff on Thursday, announcing Tom Ostrom, Bruiser Flint and Ed Schilling as assistants to the Hoosiers' new coach, just as multiple reports had stated over the weekend.
"I'm very excited to be able to put together what I think will be one of the hardest-working and gifted staffs in the country that will recruit, teach, mentor and develop the next generation of Indiana Hoosiers," Miller said in a statement issued by the team. "This group brings a wealth of experience in every facet of coaching, and I can't wait to work with them on a daily basis."
IU also confirmed that the director of basketball operations will be Bill Comar, who served under Miller in that role at Dayton, and Dayton graduate assistant Ben Sander also will join the Hoosiers in an administrative capacity.
In addition, Derek Elston is staying on as IU's director of player development. The former IU player is universally respected and will be entering his third year in that role.
