Feast celebration

The University of Saint ­Francis, 2701 Spring St., will celebrate the feast of Francis of Assisi with three free events. A Franciscan prayer service will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday, and a special Mass will begin at noon Saturday in Saint Francis Chapel at the west end of Trinity Hall. The Blessing of Pets to honor St. Francis will take place at 6 p.m. Sunday in front of Brookside near the St. Francis statue.

International luncheon

"Portugal and Spain: Common Neighbors with an Uncommon Past" will be discussed at an international luncheon at noon Oct. 14 at Church-Chapel Fellowship, Goshen College, Goshen. Cost is $20 if paid before Friday or $25 afterward. To register, call 574-535-7565.

Lutheranism conference
