History of The Journal Gazette

The Journal Gazette and its predecessors have been a locally owned fixture in Fort Wayne since the Civil War. In addition to its independent newspaper ownership, The Journal Gazette is a partner in Fort Wayne Newspapers, a joint operating business agreement, involving additional magazine and niche products.

The Journal Gazette is available online at http://www.journalgazette.net.

The Journal Gazette is an aggressive, responsible, regional news organization that advocates for the public and enables journalists to do their best work. It is the dominant newspaper in northeast Indiana, with circulation in 11 Indiana and four Ohio counties. It has a bureau in Indianapolis, and the Sunday Journal Gazette is the second-largest Sunday paper in the state.

The Journal Gazette Co. also operates a not-for-profit foundation that makes grants to many deserving 501(c)3 organizations operating within the paper's circulation area.
