A 32-year-old Warsaw woman died and four people were injured when the woman rear-ended a vehicle on U.S. 30 in Kosciusko County.

The sheriff's department said Amanda Hench, 32, died at the scene of the crash reported at 6:21 p.m. Wednesday on U.S. 30 just east of North Fox Farm Road.

Four passengers in Hench's vehicle were injured -- Christine Hench, 54; Martha Paxton, 75; a seven-year-old girl; and a four-year-old boy. All were taken to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, police said.

Christopher Graber, 58, of Warsaw, told police he was driving his Chevrolet Silverado east on U.S. 30 when he slowed down in the left lane to help a motorist stopped along the westbound side of U.S. 30.

Graber told police he activated his hazard lights before his vehicle was rear-ended by Amanda Hench's vehicle.
