A Fort Wayne man was ordered today to spend 85 years behind bars for the murder of De'andre Voss in late 2017.

Bryan L. Flowers, 35, shot Voss in the face Dec. 23, 2017, and an Allen County judge sentenced him this morning to 65 years in prison for murder. Judge Fran Gull added 20 years to the sentence for using a gun to commit the crime.

In court, Flowers said he was wrongfully convicted by jurors last month and maintained his innocence.

Witnesses testified at trial he shot Voss, DNA evidence tied him to the crime and Flowers was captured on surveillance video.

The shooting occurred after he and Voss left a party at the Villages of Hanna apartment complex.
