River adjustments slated for Monday
The Journal Gazette
Flashboards will be removed from the St. Joseph Dam near Anthony and Coliseum boulevards on Monday.
The dam will be temporarily lowered beginning at midnight Saturday to allow the dam's spillway to dry, so the flashboards can be safely removed, a statement from Fort Wayne City Utilities said.
The boards, which are kept in place during the summer, extend the height of the dam, keeping the river at a higher level upstream and ensuring enough water is available for treating.
River levels are expected to return to normal by Oct. 25.
