Fort Wayne man stabbed to death in prison

MATTHEW LEBLANC | The Journal Gazette

A Fort Wayne man in prison for killing a man over a game of dice was stabbed to death in prison.

Ezekiel Jones was found Wednesday morning with an injury to his neck at the Pendleton Correctional Facility and later died at a hospital, according to a news release from the prison.

Jailers were investigating a loud noise when they found Jones, and an autopsy is planned.

"The suspect in the attack and potential witnesses to the incident are being questioned by the facilities Investigations and Intelligence staff along with investigators from the Indiana State Police," Warden Dushan Zatecky said in the release.

A jury found Jones guilty of shooting to death Antoine Latham, 20, in February 2006 after an argument over a game of dice. Court records said Jones lost about $400 in the game.
