G League player dies

Justin A. Cohn | The Journal Gazette

Zeke Upshaw, the Grand Rapids Drive player who collapsed at the end of the Drive's regular-season finale Saturday, has died.

The news was confirmed through a statement by the G League’s president, Malcolm Turner. I don’t know much beyond that at this time.

This could have consequences on the Mad Ants’ playoff game Saturday. Grand Rapids is among the teams needing to play a first-round game, so one would assume it would delay that. Granted, the Mad Ants are not awaiting the winner of the Grand Rapids game.

Meanwhile, the NBA’s Indiana Pacers have assigned Ike Anigbogu to the Mad Ants.
