Headwaters Ice Rink set to open

Headwaters Park will open the Outdoor Ice Skating Rink at 11 a.m. Saturday for its 15th season.

Skating rates remain the same at $3 for children 13 and younger and $5 for adults and children 14 and older. Skaters can bring their own skates or rent skates for $2, a statement from Headwaters Park Alliance said today.

Season passes are available by calling Geoff Paddock at 260-425-5745 or at the rink beginning Saturday at 260-422-7625.

On Wednesdays between Dec. 6 and Feb. 28, children 13 and younger can skate free. Indoor concessions will be again be available this year including hot drinks, sandwiches and soups.

The hours of rink operation are from 1 to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday; noon to 10 p.m. Friday; 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday; and noon to 8 p.m. Sunday.

The rink will have extended holiday hours, but will close Christmas Day. Free parking is available at the Headwaters Park lot.
