Smoke closes schools at Northern Wells
The Journal Gazette
Smoke at Northern Wells Community Schools resulted in a two-delay, while Norwell middle and high schools will be closed today, according to the district's website.
The smoke appeared at the high school this morning and set off a fire alarm, officials said. Firefighters responded and the smoke subsided by 7 a.m. Officials said the cause of the smoke is not known.
School buses already en route had to return students to their homes, officials said. Superintendent Scott Mills ordered the schools closed as a safety measure.
