The Journal Gazette
A fire early today caused minor fire and water damage at a Brackenridge Street home, Fort Wayne firefighters said.
No one was home at the time of the fire and no one was injured, the Fort Wayne Fire Department said in a statement.
Firefighters were called about 12:15 a.m. to a home in the 400 block of West Brackenridge on reports of flames from the attic of the home, the statement said.
It said firefighters found flames mainly on the exterior at the front peak of the two-story home, near an attic window, and they were controlled within nine minutes.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, the statement said. Fort Wayne police, Neighborhood Code Enforcement and the Three Rivers Ambulance Authority assisted.
