TinCaps rally for 1st road sweep in 3 years

LANSING, Mich. – Fernando Tatis hit a run-scoring single in the ninth inning, leading the TinCaps to a 6-4 win over the Lansing Lugnuts on Wednesday.

The TinCaps (16-23) trailed the Lugnuts on two separate occasions, but the three-run ninth inning gave them the win.

The win gives Fort Wayne its first sweep of a series on the road since 2014. 

The single by Tatis came in the midst of a three-run inning and gave the TinCaps a 5-4 lead. Later in the inning, Reinaldo Ilarraza hit an RBI double, driving in Rod Boykin.

Blake Rogers (2-0) got the win in relief while Jackson McClelland (1-2) took the loss in the Midwest League game. David Bednar retired the side in order for his fourth save of the season.

Tatis, Hudson Potts and G.W. Young each had two hits.

Bo Bichette doubled and singled, driving home three runs for the Lugnuts. Lansing (19-17) took its first lead of the series in the bottom of the first inning with a 1-0 lead.
