Hoosiers add ex-Bellarmine forward as walk-on

Ryan Burton, a 6-foot-7 forward who used to play at Bellarmine, will join Indiana as a walk-on.

Burton graduated from Bedford-North Lawrence High School and then played the 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons with the Knights.

He averaged 2.6 points and one rebound in 26 games off the bench as a freshman. He made two starts and played in all 32 games as a sophomore, averaging 5.4 points and two rebounds while making 38 percent of his 3-pointers.

Burton twice made the Great Lakes Valley Conference’s all-academic team.

He averaged 11 points and six rebounds as a high school senior, helping Bedford-North Lawrence to an 18-2 record and the Hoosier Hills Conference Championship.
