Auburn rate-hike hearing Wednesday

The Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission will conduct a field hearing at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Auburn City Council Chambers, 210 E. Ninth St., to hear from the public about a petition from Auburn Municipal Electric for a new schedule of rates and charges.

Before the hearing, the Office of Utility Consumer Counselor will conduct an educational session at 5:30 p.m.

Auburn Municipal Electric submitted a petition for an increase in rates and charges for service and authority to implement a two-part tracking mechanism.
