Purdue women’s basketball coach Sharon Versyp agreed to a contract extension through the 2019-20 season, athletic director Morgan Burke announced Tuesday.
The Boilermakers have won the Big Ten tournament four times in Versyp’s eight seasons and appeared twice in the Elite Eight of the NCAA tournament.
“It is an honor to serve as the coach at my alma mater, and I am extremely thankful and blessed,” Versyp said in a release issued by the school. “I appreciate the ongoing commitment and support from our administration.”
Purdue senior associate athletic director Nancy Cross said the program is in a “strong position” to compete for a national title under Versyp, whose contract was extended for the fifth time.
