Forwards Jeremy Hollowell and Austin Etherington will transfer from Indiana, the school announced Monday.
Each completed his sophomore year of eligibility this month. Etherington is set to graduate in May and can play next season. Hollowell will have to sit out a year at his next college.
Hollowell was the Hoosiers' starting power forward for the first 14 games, but Tom Crean benched him for three games citing focus issues, and Hollowell never returned to a significant role. He struggled mightily all season, shooting 22.6 percent on 3-pointers and 36.8 percent overall.
“We have put a lot of time and effort into Jeremy, both on and off the court,” Crean said. “It is our expectation that he finish strong in school and adhere to team rules. We hope he realizes his full potential and believe we did everything over the last two years to help make that happen.”
Hollowell said he wants a fresh start, while Etherington is seeking more regular playing time.
Etherington, supposedly a floor spacer, hit only 25 percent of his 3s in two seasons.
“I will forever be a Hoosier at heart,” Etherington said.
