    The IPFW women’s volleyball was picked to finish second in the Summit League preseason poll of the league’s head coaches. The Mastodons received 53 points. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own teams.

Mastodons headed to Ohio U.

One MAC team down, another on deck.

Fresh off a 97-91 victory over Mid-American Conference school Akron tonight in the first round of the Tournament, the IPFW men will get another dose of the MAC in Round 2.

They'll play Saturday at 2 p.m. at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio.

The Bobcats (24-11) finished 11-7 in the MAC, and are playing in their second CIT. They beat Cleveland State 64-62 in Athens on Wednesday to move into the second round.

Ohio is 13-6 at home this season and its signature games this season included a 76-67 victory over NCAA tournament team Mercer and a 10-point loss at Ohio State. Against common opponents Bowling Green and Miami, the Bobcats went 3-1, beating Miami twice by seven and six points, respectively, and going 1-1 against Bowling Green with a 58-56 loss in Athens and a 72-61 win at Bowling Green.
