A look at Big Ten teams in the NCAA tournament:

Michigan State vs. Delaware

Big Ten tournament champion Michigan State opens against Delaware on Thursday in the East Region at Spokane, Wash.

The fourth-seeded Spartans (26-8), NCAA tournament regulars, earned an automatic berth by upsetting Michigan 69-55 in the tournament championship on Sunday.

The Blue Hens (25-9) won their first NCAA tournament berth since 1999 with a come-from-behind victory against William & Mary in the Colonial Athletic Association tournament championship.

Delaware, a No. 13 seed, has three players – Devon Saddler (19.7), Davon Usher (19.4) and Jarvis Threatt (18.1) – who average 18 points or more.

Michigan State is getting healthy at the right time.

Coach Tom Izzo has started the same five players for the last five games, and the Spartans have won four of them.

Michigan vs. Wofford

Michigan earned the No. 2 seed in the Midwest Region and will face 15th-seeded Wofford on Thursday in Milwaukee.

The Wolverines (25-8) won the Big Ten’s regular season title but fell to rival Michigan State 69-55 Sunday in the finals of the conference tournament. Michigan reached the national title game a year ago, where it fell to Louisville.

Wofford (20-12) finished tied for third in the Southern Conference. But the Terriers beat Western Carolina to win the league tournament.

Ohio State vs. Dayton

Sixth-seeded Ohio State meets 11th-seeded Dayton in the South Region in Buffalo, N.Y.

The Buckeyes (25-9) have been one of the most up-and-down teams in the field, rising to No. 3 nationally after a 15-0 start only to lose five of six and fall out of the Top 25.

Ohio State lost to Michigan in the Big Ten tournament semifinals.

The Flyers (23-10) lost in the Atlantic 10 tournament quarterfinals to keep them on the bubble. Dayton last made the tourney in 2009.

The schools are located about an hour apart, with their last meeting coming in the NIT in 2008.

Dayton is coached by Archie Miller, the brother of Arizona coach Sean Miller.

Wisconsin vs. American

Wisconsin earned the No. 2 seed in the West Region and plays No. 15 seed American in Milwaukee on Thursday.

Wisconsin got an at-large bid after losing 83-75 on Saturday to eventual Big Ten champion Michigan State.

The Badgers (26-7) come in having dropped two of their last three games. Frank Kaminsky leads Wisconsin with 13.6 points and 6.4 rebounds per game.

American (20-12) earned an automatic bid after winning the Patriot League tournament with a 55-36 victory against Boston University on Wednesday night.

The Eagles are led by Jesse Reed (13.9 points) and Tony Wroblicky (12.2 points, 7.3 rebounds). They are winless in two NCAA appearances.

Nebraska vs. Baylor

Nebraska got an 11th seed in the West Region and faces No. 6 seed Baylor (24-11) in San Antonio on Friday. The Bears return to the tournament after winning the NIT last season.

Baylor is coming off a loss to Iowa State in the Big 12 tournament final. Baylor finished tied for sixth in the regular-season conference standings, after going 2-8 to start league play.

The Huskers (19-12) are making their first tournament appearance since 1998, and seventh overall. They’ve never won in the tournament.

Nebraska, picked to finish last in the Big Ten, surpassed expectations overall this season but fell 71-67 to No. 24 Ohio State in the quarterfinals of the Big Ten tournament.

Iowa vs. Tennessee

Iowa will play Tennessee in Dayton on Wednesday with the winner getting the No. 11 seed in the Midwest Region and facing No. 6 seed UMass in Raleigh, N.C. on Friday.

Iowa (20-12) was a Big Ten title contender a month ago, but it lost six of its last seven games and fell to Northwestern in the league tourney.

Tennessee (21-12) won five in a row before falling to Florida on Saturday.
